Tassos Vlassopoulos is the CEO of Hellenic Petroleum (Upstream Business Unit), managing four operated and five non-operated blocks.
He has held senior management positions at GE and has, in total, 32 years of global experience, mainly acquired in oil & gas, power generation, strategy consulting, M&A and product management.
Furthermore, he was recently a non – Executive Board Member at PPC.
He has published an influential SPE paper on “Standardisation – Learnings from Industrial Sectors”, leading the discussion with all major Oil & Gas companies and several UK stakeholders (Association, Industry Council, Regulator).
He holds a Masters in Operations Research from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus. In addition, he has worked as a Research Officer at the London Business School, where he became the co-author of a book and academic articles on industrial and business strategy. Tassos has also attended several leadership, business and energy programmes (at Georgia Tech and the GE Management Centre) and has spoken at multiple global energy conferences.
