Ralph Kamphöner (50) heads the EU office and international trade department of the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry in Brussels (www.textil-mode.de). The 1,400 companies in this highly competitive and dynamic innovative sector stand for 135,000 domestic jobs.
Before joining textil+mode in 2018, he gained ample experience in EU policy making during his 17 years in responsible and leading positions in EuroCommerce, the EU umbrella voice of the retail and wholesale industries. As Director of Policy he ledthe work on all policies related to international trade, includingon multilateral and bilateral trade negotiations and acted as coordinator for the wholesale sector.
During several years, he held the vice-chairmanship of the European Services Forum (ESF) policy committee. Before joining Brussels in 2001 he served two years with international trade focused advocacies in Hamburg.
Admitted as Attorney-at-Law (Rechtsanwalt) in his native Düsseldorf area – where he also delivered the second State Exam – he holds a degreein Law from the University of Passau.
Ralph Kamphöner is an active member in various policy organisations in Brussels and Germany. He works simultaneously in German, Italian, French and English.
