Kyriakos Gialoglou has over 20 years’ professional experience with focus on energy, environment, sustainability and EU affairs. Currently he is Director of Government Affairs for Seawind Ocean Technology, an innovative start-up developing the next generation of floating wind turbines. He is also Adviser to the UNESCO Chair on Conservation at the International Hellenic University and an expert adviser to the European Economic and Social Committee.
Previously, Kyriakos developed energy policy and drafted legislation during his tenure as Team Leader at the European Commission in Brussels. He was Director at Eurogas, the main gas association in Europe, leading advocacy for natural gas at EU level.
Kyriakos is a specialist in retail electricity and gas markets and in this domain he was Advisor to the Board of Directors at the Council of European Energy Regulators, comprising of the EU and EEA national energy regulatory authorities. Kyriakos started his career as Research Fellow at the prominent EU policy think tank the Centre for European Policy Studies. His applied research focused on EU energy policy and regulation, industrial policy and geopolitics and EU climate policy.
